About Argus

At Argus, we offer 24/7 homelesness prevention and shelter diversion services to youth in crisis anywhere within the Waterloo Region. In addition to our food, shelter and constant staff support, we also offer a voluntary life-skills acquisition program whose main goal is to mobilize young people experiencing homelessness towards a healthy and viable re-integration into their community.

Exemplary Accommodations for Our Youth

Partnering with Cornell University to Enhance Our Youth’s Experience in Our Homes

Argus maintains two licenses with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services to operate two trauma informed homes for children and youth, ages 14-18, in care. Argus has entered into a 3-year agreement with Cornell University to implement Children And Residential Experiences: Creating Conditions for Change (CARE) practice model.

Argus continuously strives to offer exemplary accommodation for young people in our care. Argus incorporates principles of trauma informed design in our spaces by way of paint colour, furniture selection, plants and lighting.
